Task 2

Music Videos with some sort of animation: (in no specific order)

VFX - All the effects used are a bit over the top but that suits the musician and the upbeat tone too. At 1:00 the lyrics go "Look at this mess I've made" while the camera zooms away from the musicians face. I feel that the simple effect goes very well with the lyrics.

VFX - Distortion effects compiled with a 360 degree video. I like how those two aspects make a very surreal experience and the fact that goes with the style of music very well.

VFX - At 0:20 there is a transition done by having the camera positioned at the same level and angle and having the musician in the same position. It could have been a green screen too. The effect helps exaggerate the downward tone to the music.

The musician standing in a completely black room really helps sell the tone and style of the music as it is slow paced with gloomy lyrics.

Motion Graphics / VFX - This video is all about showing off two things: The creators motion graphic skills and the beauty of blank VHS covers, all put together with retro style music that matches well with what the video is showing off. The video has an effect where it is holding one specific part of the last scene and using it to transition into a new scene, which I like a lot.

Drawn animation

VFX - The transition at 0:34 synchronises well with the musicians motion and the musics fast tone.

The VFX of holding a certain part of the scene still and using it to transition is prominent in this music video and it is what I like about it too. I reckon that it is done by masking out the rest of the scene but keeping the important part (the face) and overlaying and implementing that onto another scene (the watch face). Although it does not seem to match the musics style, I would like to try and recreate a transition like this at some point.
